Avilo ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Avilo app and website.
Information we collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. We do not collect your exact location — only a general area radius that you control.
Location data: With your explicit permission, Avilo accesses your approximate location to show you nearby users and show them that you're in the area. Your precise GPS coordinates are never shared with other users.
Usage data: We collect information about how you use the app (features accessed, meetups confirmed) to improve the product. This data is anonymised and aggregated.
How we use your information
We use your information to: operate and improve the Avilo service; show you nearby users who are open to meeting; facilitate meetup confirmations; send you service-related communications; and keep the platform safe and free from fake accounts.
What we never do
We never sell your data to third parties. We never share your exact location with other users. We never use your data for advertising targeting.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure (AWS). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. We retain your data only for as long as your account is active.
Your rights
You can: access your personal data at any time; request correction of inaccurate data; delete your account and all associated data; opt out of non-essential communications. Contact us at work1reid@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights.
Cookies
The Avilo website uses minimal, necessary cookies only (session management). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children's privacy
Avilo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
